Bibi – A Special Neighbour

Mrs Bibi Jasper moved into Tyndall Gardens in 1969 and has been her home ever since. In her 52 years here, she has always been happy and proud of her home and Tyndall Gardens. Bibi worked long hours many, early mornings as a Carer and cared for so many people, brushing their hair, moisturising hands, and making someone feel nice when time has been against them and their health deteriorating but tending to their needs with such care and compassion. People have come and gone and so many people Bibi looked after without anyone knowing. To name a couple, there was Ruby who Bibi would cook a meal for, buy fish and chips for and give her, her time and company,

Bibi was still working as a Carer but still managed to look after the residents of Tyndall Gardens. There was Jean who lived next door to Bibi, who Bibi would completely look after with kindness and love, Bibi always said, “A person, no matter how old or their vulnerability is a human being, they should be respected and treated with compassion and kindness” and that just summed up Bibi, this lady is everyone’s person and someone you can go to, with anything and at any time.

Bibi will always invite you in to her warm, cosy flat, make you a drink, offer you food and above all, listen, never judging but supporting, helping, and loving you, you can trust Bibi and your conversation stays in her flat and she would never betray your trust.

Tyndall Gardens will not be the same for a long time, if ever but Bibi you will always be remembered for welcoming us all into your heart and making us feel like we all belonged. We will all miss you deeply, but you have made each one of us a better person just by knowing you, we all carry you within our hearts.

So, extraordinary, one of a kind, lovely, warm, beautiful, and kind lady, we all hope you like this, and we wish you nothing but health and happiness for your new chapter.

We Love You
